A conversation we hear often

Every director wants to ask sharper questions about AI.

Director asking a question about where AI is being used in the businessDirector asking about the risk appetite for AI agents acting on the organisation’s behalfDirector asking whether the board is too focused on productivity and missing bigger opportunitiesDirector asking how to get a clearer view of AI in the board pack

Who should attend

Mid-market board directors, CEOs, AFRC members and senior executives who want a concise, credible introduction to the board questions raised by AI.

The question it answers

"What should directors understand and ask about AI opportunity, adoption and business risk?"

What the session covers

1

What's changing, and why it can't wait

AI capability is compounding so fast that what boards understood a year ago is already out of date.

2

Where the extraordinary value comes from

From personal productivity to new products, services and business models – the opportunity is bigger than most boards realise.

3

The strategic questions directors should ask

Customer value, industry economics, competitors and defensible advantage – key lenses to apply before backing a direction.

4

How to think about governance and risk during AI adoption

The key areas of potential risk across your whole organisation and how to get sufficient oversight.

5

How the risk surface shifts as AI gets more agentic

As AI moves from suggesting to acting, familiar business risks change shape and often escalate quickly.

6

What board members should do next

Practical, board-ready questions for your board meetings, and the confidence to challenge what you're being told about AI.

Plus 15 minutes of open, live Q&A.

Questions about the Briefing

Can more than one person attend?

Yes – we encourage the whole board, plus the CEO and any AFRC members, to join together so everyone starts from the same shared understanding.

Do I need a technical background?

No. It's written for directors, not technologists. We translate AI capability into strategy, adoption and business risk language your board already uses.

Will a recording of the session be available afterwards?

No. We want directors to feel free to ask questions openly, so we don't share recordings afterwards – it keeps the session a safe space for candid discussion. If the date doesn't suit, get in touch and we'll find one that does.

How is this different from the AI for Directors Workshop?

The Board AI Briefing is passive education: you listen, see examples and ask questions. The AI for Directors Workshop is hands-on – you use AI tools yourself on realistic board material.
