Privacy Policy
Effective 30 July 2026
Overview and scope
Secret Sauce Pty Ltd (“Secret Sauce”, “we”, “us”, “our”) is committed to protecting the privacy of people who visit this website, contact us or engage our services. This policy has been developed in accordance with the Privacy Act 1988 (Cth) and the Australian Privacy Principles (APPs), and explains what personal information we collect, why we collect it, how we use and disclose it, and how you can access or correct it.
By using this website or otherwise providing us with personal information, you agree to its collection, storage, use and disclosure as described in this policy. You are not required to provide personal information to us, but doing so may be necessary for us to respond to your enquiry or provide a requested service.
Information we collect
The personal information we collect depends on how you interact with us, and may include:
- your name, organisation, role and contact details (email address and phone number);
- the content of enquiries, messages and correspondence you send us through the contact form, a resource download form or the newsletter signup;
- your engagement type and the details of any project, board question or opportunity you describe to us;
- website usage and technical data, such as IP address, browser and device type, pages visited and referring pages, collected through analytics tools; and
- any other personal information you choose to provide to us directly.
How we collect it
We collect personal information directly from you, through the contact form, resource download forms, newsletter signup and direct correspondence, and automatically through cookies and analytics tools when you browse this website. We do not purchase personal information from third parties.
Why we collect and use it
We collect, hold, use and disclose personal information to:
- respond to your enquiry and provide the services, resources or information you request;
- deliver newsletter updates you have subscribed to;
- operate, maintain and improve this website;
- keep internal business and client records; and
- meet our legal and regulatory obligations.
We do not sell personal information to third parties.
Disclosure to third parties
We may disclose personal information to service providers who help us operate this website and respond to enquiries, including our website hosting, form processing, email delivery and analytics providers. We may also disclose personal information to courts, tribunals, regulators or law enforcement where required by law.
These providers may store or process information on servers located outside Australia. Where this occurs, we take reasonable steps to ensure the information continues to be handled consistently with the Australian Privacy Principles.
Direct marketing
We only send newsletter or marketing emails to people who have subscribed or otherwise consented, in line with the Spam Act 2003 (Cth). Every marketing email identifies Secret Sauce as the sender and includes an unsubscribe option, and we action unsubscribe requests promptly.
Cookies and analytics
This website uses Google Analytics and Microsoft Clarity to understand how it is used and to improve its content. These tools may use cookies or similar technologies. As our primary audience is based in Australia and this use is standard website analytics, we do not display a separate cookie consent banner; this section serves as your notice of that use. You can control cookies through your browser settings, and opt out of Google Analytics using its official browser add-on.
Storage, security and retention
We take reasonable technical and organisational steps to protect personal information from misuse, loss, unauthorised access, modification or disclosure, including restricting access to those who need it. No transmission over the internet or electronic storage system can be guaranteed completely secure.
We retain personal information only for as long as it is needed for the purposes described in this policy, or as required by law, and securely delete or de-identify it afterwards.
Data breach notification
If we become aware of a data breach likely to result in serious harm, we will assess it promptly and, where required under the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme, notify affected individuals and the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC).
Access, correction and complaints
You may contact us to request access to, or correction of, the personal information we hold about you. We aim to respond within 30 days.
If you believe we have breached the Australian Privacy Principles, contact us with details of your concern and we will investigate and respond in writing. If you remain unsatisfied, you may lodge a complaint with the OAIC at oaic.gov.au.
