AI Confidence for Aged Care Boards
Govern AI with confidence in aged care
AI is already moving into care notes, rosters, call systems and family communication. Directors don't need to become AI experts, but they need to understand the implications.
AI is bringing new questions to aged care boardrooms
Working through the difficult questions can turn unease into confidence.
Deploying AI alongside aged care quality standards takes planning
Care teams are drowning in admin, and the efficiencies on offer are real. Capturing opportunities without trading off quality care is a board conversation.
Where can AI create value?
Documentation, reporting and double data entry swallow hours meant for care. Lifting that burden gives the time back, and makes new services viable.
What must we protect along the way?
Safe clinical care, the resident and client experience, human connection, personal information, compliance and financial viability.
What will it take to adopt AI well?
More than technology. People, process and culture across clinical, administrative and volunteer teams, and with residents, clients and families.
What does the board need to oversee?
The right level of assurance on AI across the organisation, including what arrives through vendors, service providers and everyday staff tools.
A more informed board. A stronger, more confident organisation. A better future for the people in your care.

We've sat on aged care boards too
Steve has served on the board of a mid-sized aged care provider, so he knows what it's like to govern care, workforce and property in the same meeting. He's now a director in an allied health peak body.
That sits alongside AI implementation in more than 50 businesses and a front-row view of new AI capability through venture capital. We know the difference between talking about AI and governing an organisation responsible for people's care.

We're already stretched by reform and compliance. Why add AI?
AI is already arriving through your staff, your systems and your suppliers, whether or not it's on the agenda. This isn't another program of work. It's knowing where AI has turned up, which uses could affect care, and what should come back to the board.
Does this work for residential care, home care and retirement living?
Yes, and most providers we talk to run more than one. The board questions are the same; the answers differ. Residential care tends to turn on documentation and quality signals. Home care turns on coordination and information moving between services. Retirement living is often communication, property and community services. We can use examples from the domains you operate within.
How do we oversee AI without slowing management down?
A risk appetite statement, a short AI policy and some strategic guidance can provide good guardrails, which usually speeds things up, because management can move with pace on the low-risk work instead of waiting for permission.
Can you run a session for our board alone?
Yes. The briefing and the Directors' AI Workshop are open sessions, so directors can register individually and sit alongside peers from other boards. If you'd rather we came to you, we'll tailor the session to your settings and fit it around your board calendar, including inside an existing meeting or strategy day. Just ask.
When AI changes aged care, will your board be ready?
Start with the free briefing, or a conversation about what your directors need to understand and where the board should be looking.
